The New Puss in Boots:
In Search of the Diamond Nail
Somewhere far, far away, in the cat world, on the island called the Great Paw, a great treasure was hidden—the magical Diamond Nail. Thousands of cats tried to find this treasure, but after hundreds of years of searching, no one had found it.
The famous Puss in Boots spent much of his life searching for the authentic treasure map of the island which has a magic cipher that reveals the location of the Diamond Nail, but all his searches were in vain. When he grew old, he settled on the edge of a big city in a small house and made copies of works of art for a living to feed himself and his fat, lazy son.
And then one day, three skinny, scruffy cats, bandits from the garbage dump, brought the old Puss in Boots the genuine treasure map of the Great Paw island and asked him to urgently make a copy. The old Puss in Boots made two copies instead of one. He gave the bandits the two copies and kept the original for himself. Soon after, he packed his fat, lazy son’s things, gave him the treasure map and told him to go and find the Diamond Nail. He wanted his son to become famous throughout the cat world, as he once was. Even though the son protested, trying to convince his father that the Diamond Nail did not exist, that it was just a legend, and that he was not ready for such a journey, the old Puss in Boots still put his son out the door.
The new Puss in Boots embarks on a perilous journey. He falls into a series of incredible adventures in which he finds true friends and true love. During the journey, he transforms from a fat idler who is filled with fears and insecurities, into a strong, bold and confident cat. His honesty and nobility of character not only help him to overcome the difficult challenges, but to also find the treasure that he did not believe existed.
