Somewhere far, far away, in the cat world, on the island of the Great Paw, a great treasure was hidden—the magical Diamond Nail. Thousands of cats tried to find this treasure, but after hundreds of years of  searching, no one has found it.

The famous Puss in Boots spent much of his life searching for the genuine map of the island with a magic cipher that reveals the location of the Diamond Nail, but all his searches were in vain. When he grew old, he settled on the edge of a big city in a small house and made copies of works of art for a living to support himself and his fat, lazy son.

And then one day, three skinny, scruffy cats, bandits from the garbage dump, brought the old Puss in Boots the genuine map of the Great Paw island and asked him to make a copy of it in a hurry. The old Puss in Boots made two copies, which he gave to the bandits, but kept the original for himself. Soon after, he packed his son’s things, gave him the treasure map, and told him to go and find the Diamond Nail. He wanted his son to become famous throughout the cat world, as he was. Even though the son protested, trying to convince his father that the Diamond Nail did not exist, that it was just a legend, and that he was not ready for such journey, the old Puss in Boots still put him out the door.

The new Puss in Boots embarks on a perilous journey. He falls into a series of incredible adventures in which he finds true friends and true love. During the journey, he transforms from a cowardly, out of shape idler into a fit, courageous and confident cat. His honesty and nobility of character help him to overcome all obstacles and get the treasure that he didn’t believe existed.
